Waxing

• To allow for a quicker & less painful wax please lightly exfoliate the treatment area 2-3 times a week. This will help polish the skin and help remove any ingrown hairs.
• Please avoid having any microdermabrasion, chemical peels or resurfacing treatments in the treatment area at least 2-weeks prior to your treatment.
• If you would like to have a spray tan, please book your waxing treatment 1 day prior to your spray tan.
• Please avoid putting on moisturiser in the treatment area the day of your treatment.

EXFOLIATING

Please don’t exfoliate the treatment area or use any harsh soaps for at least 48 hours after your waxing treatment. Thereafter please exfoliate 2-3 times weekly. This will allow the new hair growth to come through, reducing ingrowns.

GREEN JUICE SKIN BALM – HYDRATES SKIN

A great product to use after every wax treatment is our Green Juice Skin Balm. Our Green Juice Balm is antibacterial and antimicrobial and it will help reduce redness, soothe and hydrate the skin after a wax.

DO YOU SUFFER FROM INGROWN HAIRS?

If you suffer from in-growns we can also recommend great home care products that would be most suitable to you.

AVOID EXERCISE + SWEATING FOR 24 HOURS

Avoid exercising, excessive perspiration or swimming in spas or pools for 24 hours.

24 – 48 HOURS POST TREATMENT

After your waxing treatment you can expect your skin to feel a little sensitive, so it’s important to treat it as so with the right after-care.

How often can I get a wax?
The Lycon wax used at Beauty Boutique Darwin can removed hairs as small as 1mm, so depending how quickly your hair grows anywhere from 2- 4 weeks is recommended.

What’s the difference between a Brazillian, G-string & Bikini Wax?
A bikini wax includes waxing everything that is outside of your bikini bottoms from the top and down the sides.

A G-string wax is an extended version of a bikini wax, removing more hair from the top and down the middle. There will be a strip of hair left that runs from the top down to your bottom, the bum is not included.

A Brazilian wax is everything from the top to the bum with a bit of hair left at the top if you wish.

Intimate waxing such as Brazilians how ever can only be carried out on persons 18 and over.

How long does my hair need to be for waxing?
Your hair needs to be at least 1mm, if it is longer than a grain of rice, please trim the area to allow for a less painful wax (advisable only for Brazilian, G string and Bikini waxing).

What if it’s ‘that time of month’?
If you are having an intimate wax and it’s ‘that time of month’ it is at your discretion whether or not you would like to keep your appointment, keeping in mind the area can be more sensitive around this time. If you would like to keep your appointment, please make sure the area is clean and hygienic.

Can I still get waxed if I am pregnant?
If you are pregnant, please let us know when you book your appointment, we may need to extend your appointment to allow for a more comfortable treatment.
