What is better than getting an amazing tan to make you feel absolutely beautiful? The answer is….maintaining it and making sure that it is still there in days to come, without the patches. Let us guide you through what you should be doing after your appointment, to maintain that amazing glow 🙂
We use the amazing Gold Coast brand Bella Bronze tanning solution in our salon. We have been using this tan for the last 5 years and swear by it! It is a consistent tan and we absolutely love the colour. It is simple and easy to use. Depending on the colour you want to be, determines how long you can leave the tan on for.Â
When you are sitting at home in the aircon, watching netflix, marinating in your tan, waiting for the right time to wash it off, you will be playing on your mobile phone. This will cause the bronzer to move around on the inside of your elbows and cause your creases there to look whiter. Now before your throw your mobile phone down and stretch your arms and legs out like a scarecrow, it is all ok. All you need to do, it get a dry towel and PAT the area. This will move the bronzer around and cover in those creases. This is the same technique if you drip water onto yourself or the dog licks your leg. Patting the area will move the bronzer around, however if you wipe the area, it will remove the bronzer completely and you will not be able to fix it.Â
Leave it on for:
- 1 hours for a light natural colour
- 2 hours for a medium colour
- 3 hours for a dark colour
You simply wash it off after 1, 2 or 3 hours and you are ready to go. When you have a shower, do not use any soaps or body washes. Use your hand only and make sure you wash off all of the bronzer. Pay particular attention to elbows, knees and and any other part of your body that has creases. When you jump out of the shower, check your body out in the mirror and make sure that you have gotten all of the bronzer off and that there are no streak marks. If you can still see some bronzer or streak markers (it will stand out because it will still be darker than your skin colour), jump straight back into the shower and make sure you get it all off. If you don’t, it will be darker than the rest of your tan and will cause streaks.
Now don’t stress…..after you jump out of the shower, you will look the same colour as you did when you first walked into the salon. The tan still needs time to develop. As a rule of thumb, you will be full colour, 12 hours after you wash your tan off. It will happen quicker but 12 hours is as a guide.Â
That is about all the information that you need directly after your spray tan to make sure that you get the best results. After your appointment
- Avoid tight clothes, excessive perspiration and leather seats directly following your spray tan
- Stay as cool as possible
- Do not wax or shave after your tan. This will remove the tan
- Avoid the use of soaps and body washes that contain the ingredients Sodium Laurel Sulfate. We recommend and stock Bella Bronze Cleansing Body Wash
- Avoid long hot showers/baths and prolonged swimming to lengthen your tan life
- Avoid chlorinated pools, spas and excessive heat such as saunas and vigorous workouts, as this will dramatically accelerate the fading process
For best results
- Keep your skin hydrates by drinking plenty of water
- Do not use supermarket soaps or body washes. The PH level is too high and will strip your tan. We recommend and stock Bella Bronze Gentle Cleansing Body Wash
- To maintain your tan, keep your skin hydrated with our Bella Bronze Hydrating Body Moisturizer
Important
- Ensure your shower is thorough. Shower using your hand to remove excess bronzer. If you have streaks post shower, IMMEDIATELY jump back in and re-wash
- Your new spray tan should last between 4-10 days depending on your aftercare
